Things to throw out without a second thought!
Flimsy kitchen utensils
Writing implements – pitch empty mechanical pencils, eraser-less #2 pencils, and dried out markers and highlighters without caps
Reference material– consider donating those through Better World Books
Trip memorabilia – Outdated maps, Out-of-date travel guides etc
Expired things– canned foods, spices, medications, vitamins, and supplements.
Storage solutions– bin, basket, or box didn’t solve your problem, then throw it out
Hobby supplies– if you are no longer using it then toss it out of your house.
Outdated technology – check for local recycling – Goodwill or Best buy
The “to-be-fixed” pile – either fix it or ditch it
Parts for discarded items – things that go with things you no longer own
Odds and ends – odd things like those plastic clips from bags of bread or rinsed out glass jars.
Swag and freebies – Try to resist bringing home one of every free item offered
Unmatched things – you’ve hopelessly lost or ruined one, then why keep the other?
Broken cleaning tools – the broom with the handle that keeps falling off, and the leaky bucket.
Bags for donation – make a point to run that errand!
Awards and trophies – take a picture and donate to AwardsMall or Medals4Mettle.
Dust collectors – photo frames without photographs inside, collections you don’t care about
Improve-me items – give away those items you purchased with the hopes of making a change, but the change didn’t stick.
Cookbooks– Recipes are everywhere and most times we end up falling back on our go-to recipes.
Gift wrap collection – old, smashed bows
Fad clutter – latest craze in kitchen appliances, workshop tools, or some other must-have item that you never use.
Clothes hangers – donate wire hangars to dry cleaners, ditch flimsy ones
Vases – how many bouquets of fresh flowers do you have out at one time? Fill one up an extra one with garden flowers and give it away!
